"Great Start" Initiation Program

Acres Hockey is very excited to continue with our "Great Start" Program in 2012. Acres Hockey and Brain Navigators are proud to include the Great Start Program as part of BRINGING SMART PLAY TO HOCKEY.

Henry is excited to offer budding hockey stars a chance to improve their skills with enrollment in the "Great Start" Initiation Program.

This program will take place July 30, 31 and Aug 1, 2012 at Oceanside Place in Parksville, BC, Canada.

The Great Start Program is a cornerstone for all future hockey skill development. The focus of this Program will be on skating basics-balance, stance, stride,  and confidence. Proper passing and shooting technique will be introduced during the ice sessions along with beginner on-ice injury prevention training. This program is for players in Tyke (ages 5,6) through Novice (ages 7,8) age groupings.

Skating is the key to a enjoyable, successful life playing hockey and starting at a young age with proper instruction puts you ahead of the pack! The 10/10,000 theory is that to be an Elite Level Athlete it takes 10,000 hrs of training and 10 years of basic skills training to achieve athletic prowess. Henry is very excited to start you down this path!

"I just wanted to pass on to you and everyone involved in last week's Acres Hockey School that our boy had the time of his life, and on Saturday after the "game" he got in the car and asked if we could sign him up for next year. He was up every morning at the crack of dawn ready to go and was still smiling when we picked him up every afternoon. The instructors were amazing and I can't believe that they had just as much (if not more) energy at the end of the day and week as they did in the mornings. We will definately recommend your camp to everyone we know and wouldn't hesitate to put Nolan in next summer. Thank you so much for sharing your love of hockey with our son," -Kate, Shawn and Nolan C.
